Is Wearing Makeup Coquettish? How Society Swallows It In

"Money can't buy us happiness but money can buy us makeup"
That's one of the most popular quotes about makeup amongst us.
Makeup or preferably called as cosmetics are used to change the look and enhance the appearance of our body or face.
I remember the first time I was interested to wear makeup was when I realized that there's something I'd like to beautify on my face. And the reason as to why most people wear it is the same: to cover their flaws.

But the time when beauty filters bombarded our society, that was the time when people in this country started to makeup-shame women. People post a picture comparing a woman with and without makeup, saying that women with makeup are fake and keep making jokes about it.
This is like a punch to my gut, society is so mean nowadays.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against someone who choose not to wear makeup, you're brave and honest.
But that doesn't mean you're allowed to underrate on women who choose otherwise. Because women who go out with bare face are as beautiful as women who wakeup earlier in the morning just to put BB cream on.

But what's worse is some people say that women who wear makeup tend to have lower IQs and are considered as sluts. Take my teacher to prove it, she once returned to class with her non-stop blab about women putting makeup is only to create sexual tension and are regarded as stupid.
Hey! You need superwoman-like skill to blend your eyeshadows or to gradient your lips because makeup is art.
(my teacher got brows like caterpillar ready to metamorphose by the way, done by her drawing them herself)
And for the boys who go like "the more natural you look, the more we like", okay now I'm asking you. Do you want to date someone with a hair like a wild lion and a face like walking-dead zombie? Because that's how we look like in the early day.
Women wear makeup to look presentable, because no one knows who we're gonna meet.
I'm a muslim and in Islam, we're allowed to wear makeup as long as there's no intention to parade our beauty  excessively.

So for the women out there, it's okay to put makeup. It's okay to feel confident and pretty.
It's okay to blush your cheeks, to up your lashes, to assemble your hair or hijab to perfection.
Find your beauty comfort zone and if people tell you otherwise, shake it off.
Wing your eyes, your life and everything.

  1. I like how you express your thoughts! I agree with you on some points! Yep, people shouldn't say bad things about girls wearing make up and compare them to others who are not wearing such thing. It's all about someone's rights and people shouldn't mind one's business, obviously.
